INQ28...The Family Are Complete...

Good Evilning My Darlings,

How are we all?

Excellent, me too...

Sorry for the recent lack of postings, most of my hobby time is being devoted to projects that I can't discuss on the blog...well not yet anyways...

I have however taken those few spare minutes, between paint and ink and glue drying, to finish the last of Inquisitor Victor Van Dortte's retinue of mournful miscreants.

I present to you, Barnabas:-

Again, just like his companions, Barnabas is built purely from spares on a whim.

I imagine that he (or she) is another lost soul in the Emperors employ. He does carry a short sword and revolver, but I imagine that his real skills lie in his mind. He has had his eyes burned from his skull by those who simply did not understand his talents, and was unable to perceive the universe as others do. Found during an investigation by Van Dortte, Barnabas now uses his raw psychic talents to aid in the Inquisitions good work.

On a side note, as I painted him I had this startling realization that he resembled the villain from my favorite television program from before my Undeath. I had created, Mumm Ra...

Well, as I mentioned above, Barnabas completes Van Dorttes entourage. Next up on the INQ28 schedule for old Eve is Van Dorttes old partner, and now bitter enemy...

Stay tuned,

Eve.

Salute 2013!!!

Good Evening My Darlings,

Today marks a momentous day in the wargaming industries calendar, Salute 2013 held at the Excel Centre in London.

This is my first visit to Salute and I was most definitely not disappointed. I drank in all the sights and sounds of the day and had a glorious time. I attended as a guest of Gavin Syme and as such spent a great deal of time around the Alternative Armies stand. I even partook in a game of Typhon with none other than Craig Andrews.
As well as meeting Craig, I had the opportunity to meet a whole host of great people and talk hobby, notably Edward Jackson, Rob Alderman and Elton Waters.
I also had the pleasure of reacquainting myself with my good buddy Sam Croes. We shared a walk round the hall talking retro scifi and sculpting. Can't wait till he's back in Scotland...

The highlight of my day was meeting a man who I really admire, Mr Bob Naismith. I was thrilled he spared some time for me and talked about our home country.

I will leave you with a picture if the opening view of the Excel and a closing one of Gavin, Sam, Jim and, off camera, yours truly.

Till next time,

A very tired Eve Hallow.

Dead Toads from The States...

Good Evening My Loves,

Having contracted one of your Earthling diseases this week, I have been confined to my cold damp coffin, and as such have had little time to spend with my little metal and plastic men...

Thankfully then my good friend Bob McAlister has kept me going with conversation via email.

When he was in Scotland we were talking Flintloque and the Undead, and Bob told me how he was inspired by the 666th Croaked both myself and Rob Alderman had painted for the Alternative Armies studio collection.

Count Eviskis Light Zombie Infantry.

Being flattered that he was inspired by my work I asked him to send me some pictures of his Toads, and he promptly did.

I present Bob's Undead Todoroni in icky glory:-

I love how sticky and sickly these guys are...makes me want to paint more of them...

I really like Bob's style, he really helps to bring out the character of the miniatures with his brushwork.

So there we have it. I am looking forward to seeing more of Bob's work in the future and will share it here when I get it through.

Till next time,

Eve.

INQ28 - The Enemy Awakens...

Hello My Loves,

I have had little time of late to focus on my hobby, what with "Real Work" commitments, a visit from the Eveling and relocation of the Crypt (thankfully almost completed), but reading this months White Dwarf magazine, and in particular the Blanchitsu article, I was spurred on to finish the henchmen for the enemy warband of Inquisitor Victor Van Dortte.

I converted these guys up the week following the plastic Plaguebearers release and they sat primed in a box since then. The latest Blanchitsu featuring John's fantastic conversions reminded me I had these so I set about painting them up this weekend so I might perhaps try a game in the following week.

Boys and Ghouls, I present... The Marionettes of Flesh :-

These guys are really sick.

I imagine them to have been pioneers, perhaps prospectors, for the Imperium. They landed on some God forsaken rock to mine the natural minerals in the Emperors name. They thought the land was dead, devoid of all warmth and life, a silent fortune floating through space and time....they were wrong....
What awoke when they cracked into the rock's crust? What unspeakable evil had they unleashed? How could something have changed those poor souls into little more than puppets of flesh and disease? What abomination could warp men into little more than walking corpses?

I look forward to finding out...

Till next time,

Eve.

Visit from a Fellow Clansman...

Good Evilning My Darlings,

How are we all this fine day?

Excellent.

These past few months have been a real turn around in my hobby life. I have started work on many exciting projects, played some great games and met some great people.
The last point is the focus of this posting.

Living in a somewhat remote fishing town on the south west coast of Scotland, I have found it hard to meet like minded people in the wargaming industry. But not anymore.
Recently I have met some great talent within the industry and some great gamers with whom I can share my thoughts, ideas and work.

Most recently, Bob Mcallister and his family came to stay in Girvan (Gavin is always a great host) and as such we took some time to hang out and chat hobby and whatnot.
Bob is a great guy and so full of enthusiasm for the hobby. He was very complimentary of my work and shared a few tips with me for modelling and painting. We got on like a house on fire ( he also loves horror collectibles and the greatest band to walk the Earth, KISS) and his wife and son are some of the nicest people I have met.

I was sad to see him go, but he has my email address and promised to send me some pics of his Eve Hallow inspired miniatures.

Bob, you need to get back here soon boy so we can turn Destroyer up to Eleven and play some Flintloque.

Below is a picture of Gavin, Bob, Yours Truly and Young Master Mcallister.

Till next time,

Eve.

Security Force Alpha!!!

Good Evilning My Loves,

I have returned to the land of the living once more...

Tonight I want to show you the new Security Force Alpha range from 15mm.co.uk.

I painted these a few weeks back and I believe them to be the best and most diverse range of human troops on the market.

So, without further adieu:-

As you can see from the pictures there are just under thirty different poses in the range, including command (check out the Catman and the Squidhead), standard troopers and all sorts of specialists for your 15mm collection.

I chose the red and black colour scheme to make them seem really imposing. I imagine them acting as a sort of secret police in some dystopian future. The gloss green visors add to this vision and really make them stand out on the table top.

Security Force Alpha is available now from 15mm.co.uk, so go on and follow this link to grab some now.

Till next time,

Eve.
